Serves 4-6

Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

Patty

1 kg mince beef

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 tbsp dijon mustard

1 large egg

1 pinch of salt

1 pinch of pepper

200g mozzarella cheese

     Filling

2 jalapenos, sliced

100g pickled cucumber

½ lettuce, sliced

2 – 3 medium tomatoes

1 medium spanish onion, diced

2 tbsp tomato sauce

2 tbsp mayonnaise

Method

In a large bowl combine the mince, dijon mustard, breadcrumbs, egg, and salt and pepper. Mince through with your hands. Next, take mince out of bowl and hammer shape onto a chopping board with your hands. Pat down into a burger patty shape.

Place patty into a large fry pan with a drizzle of olive oil and fry for 2-3 minutes before placing fry pan into the oven to fry off the top for 10 minutes.

Remove patty from oven and place onto bread roll. Pour the juices from the pan onto the top of the meat so they soak into the bread roll.

Next, layer with tomatoes, pickles, jalapenos, spanish onion and lettuce. Pour tomato sauce over the top of the lettuce and paste the mayonnaise on the top half of the bread roll. Place the lid of the bread roll onto the top of the burger.

Serve.
