Caramel Butterscotch Sauce
Serves 2-4
Time 10 minutes
Ingredients
150g unsalted butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
½ cup cream
¼ cup butterscotch schnapps (or other liquor or more cream)
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp salt
Method
Heat a saucepan on medium heat. Add the butter and sugar and cook for 3-5 minutes.
Swirl occasionally until the butter and sugar have caramelised and started bubbling away.
Add the vanilla, then add the butterscotch.
Swirl around then pour in the cream.
Beware of the high heat.
Swirl for a couple more times and remove the pan from heat.
Allow the sauce to cool down slightly.
Serve with banana pudding or cakes.
