Cinnamon Pears with Spiced Greek Yoghurt

Serves 4

Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

2 pears

½ tbsp ground cinnamon

½ tbsp maple syrup (or runny honey)

4 short cinnamon sticks

4 whole star anise

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Spiced Yoghurt

2 cups Greek-style yoghurt

¼ tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp ground cardamom

1 tsp orange rind & juice of ½ orange

120g roasted almonds, roughly chopped, to serve

Method

Quarter the pears and cut out the core. Leave the skins on.

In a small bowl mix together the ground and whole cinnamon, maple syrup, star anise and oil.

Heat a frying pan and add the pear mixture, with the liquid. Fry for a few minutes until the pear is a little crispy at the edges.

Meanwhile, combine the spiced yoghurt ingredients in a small bowl.

Divide the spiced yoghurt between bowls, top with the pears, drizzle over any juices from the pan, and scatter the chopped almonds.
