Homemade Lamb Burgers
Serves 4
Time 30 minutes
Ingredients
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
½ red onion, diced
1 clove garlic, diced or crushed
1 tsp oregano
500g lean lamb mince
1 tsp salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp tomato chutney
4 wholemeal buns
1 avocado, sliced
4 cos lettuce leaves
4 thick slices tomato
4 beetroot slices
4 slices cheddar cheese
Method
Heat the remaining oil in a frying pan and sauté the onion and garlic for a few minutes until translucent.
In a bowl combine the onion mixture with the oregano, lamb, salt, pepper and chutney. Form into burgers and set aside.
Heat the BBQ or chargrill pan and cook the burgers for a few minutes on each side until cooked through.
Half the buns and toast on the cut side on the grill. Layer the avocado, lettuce, burger, cheese, beetroot and tomato.
