Rump Steak with Garlic Butter Sauce

Serves 1

Time 5-10 minutes

Ingredients

250g-rump steak

1 bunch thyme

1 knob butter

3 drizzle extra virgin olive oil

1 pinch salt

1 pinch pepper

Method

Season front and back of steak with salt, pepper and olive oil.

Next, break thyme and place small amount on one side of the steak.

Meanwhile, coat hot fry pan with a drizzle of olive oil. Add steak to the fry pan and seal first side (thyme side up) for 2-3 minutes before sealing opposite side for 2-3 minutes (cook time is dependent on how rare or cooked you would like).

Remove steak from pan and allow to cool for 1 minute.

While steak is cooling, in the fry pan on a medium to high heat, place knob of butter and handful of thyme leaves into the pan. Microplane garlic and add it to the fry pan and mix together, allowing to cook for a minute.

Pour sauce over steak and serve.
